Kinnar Community Dressed as Brides, Carry Kalash During Grand Procession
Jhansi: The Akhil Bharatiya Kinnar Sammelan witnessed a grand Kalash procession today as part of the ongoing cultural and religious festivities. Members of the Kinnar community, dressed like brides, carried sacred Kalash (pots) on their heads in a colorful and energetic event.
The procession, which started from Kampani Bagh near Sadar Bazaar, was led by Kinnar Guru Kanki Nayak and several other community leaders. The participants, adorned in bridal attire, moved through the streets with great enthusiasm, balancing the Kalash on their heads as they danced to traditional songs.
As they walked, the kinnars were greeted with respect and admiration by people from Jhansi and neighboring cities. The event had a festive atmosphere with kinnars performing vibrant dance routines and showcasing their cultural heritage. The Kalash procession concluded at Ashirwad Garden, where further religious and cultural ceremonies took place.
