New Delhi: The Bangladeshi exiled writer, Taslima Nasrin, will continue to reside in India, as the Ministry of Home Affairs has extended her residence permit. The ministry confirmed the renewal on Tuesday, addressing a previous request for an extension that had been pending since July 22.
Taslima, known for her outspoken views on various social issues, expressed gratitude through a social media post. Just a day before, she had personally requested Home Minister Amit Shah to approve her stay, citing her attachment to India. In her post, Taslima thanked Shah for the prompt response and wrote, “Dear Amit Shah, Namaskar. I am happy to continue living in India, as this is where I feel at home.”
