Bengaluru: After India faced defeat against New Zealand in the first Test, Indian captain Rohit Sharma commented on the team being bowled out for just 46 runs in the first innings. He emphasized that three hours of play would not determine the capability of the team.
Rohit said, “Those three hours won’t define what this team is. I’m not going to overthink this Test match because it’s unfair to judge the team based on just three hours of poor play. You know, it’s easy to reflect on those three hours, but it’s wrong to assess the players solely on that basis. We need to keep a positive environment in the team.”
Rohit further added that mistakes were made, and the team paid the price, but it doesn’t mean the journey ends here. He expressed confidence in the team’s ability to make a strong comeback. “We have done it before. We lost the first match against England and then came back to win four matches in a row,” Rohit recalled.
